To improve the ski teachers understanding of guest service and its relationship to the teaching model and the resort business.
Communication Station - Indoor - 1 Credit
To sensitize instructors to the range of roles that communication plays in ski teaching, and to ensure that the messages sent are the ones that are meant to be sent.
Foundations of Teaching - On Snow - 2 Credits
Associate the development of lesson content with assessment of student's needs, construction of lesson goals, and selection of activities.
Get In Gear - On Snow - 2 Credits
Develop knowledge of ski equipment and technology, and how they affect the movement and performance of contemporary skiers.
History Comes Alive - On Snow - 2 Credits
Historical perspectives of how skiing techniques and the skills required to use them were developed; compares traditional and contemporary ski techniques.
Knee High Knowledge - On Snow or Indoor - 1 Credit
Develop an understanding of how children learn at different ages and stages of development.
Movement Analysis - On Snow - 2 Credits
Develop an understanding of the cause and effect relationships of movements and their effect on performance.
Physical & Mental Disabilities - On Snow or Indoor - 1 Credit
Become familiar with Adaptive Two Track skiing and the disabilities in this category. The course will discuss the commonalities of the disabilities in this category, how to evaluate the physical and mental status of students, and how to modify ATS progressions to meet the needs of these students.
