The 2011 Snowsports School Management Seminar will be held at Mount Snow, VT, on November 29 - December 1, 2011. Even though it’s early in the season, Mount Snow is the “Snowmaking Fan Gun Capital of North America.” With only a little cold weather Mount Snow can pound out tons of snow and provide excellent skiing in the early season.
The Snowsports Management Committee has put together a great schedule of educational sessions and on snow clinics for this year’s event. The opening session and Keynote address will be held on Tuesday evening at 8:00pm. This year’s address will feature Burton Snowboards Global Resort Director, Jeff Boliba. Jeff’s address will focus on the “Attraction and Retention of Youth in Snowsports.” On snow and indoor sessions are scheduled to take place during the day on Wednesday and Thursday.
Also planned is a “Town Hall” style meeting lead by our PSIA/AASI Board of Directors Chairman, Eric Sheckleton and PSIA/AASI Professional Development Manager Earl Saline. This discussion will begin with the direction and future of PSIA and AASI and go wherever the audience takes it.
A great line up of educators is being scheduled including numerous National Team members. The seminar will include optional special “tracks” for AASI members and Adaptive members. A delicious banquet is planned for Wednesday evening with special awards to be presented at that time including the Einar Aas Memorial Award.
Complete details, lodging information, and a session schedule will be mailed to each school director in early October. If your mountain employment does not begin until late fall, please be sure to look for the mailing at that time or check the website under the Snowsports School Directors Help Desk.

Important note: There is no Southern Snowsports School Management Seminar scheduled for the 11-12 season. Directors that were planning to attend the Southern Seminar can fulfill their member school education requirement by attending either the Management Seminar at Mount Snow or one of the ART workshops for this season.
