Do you love to teach, get involved and help others? Do you desire to work in an "one-on-one" environment, or work in an environment that you can change and alter making success a reality? If so, adaptive snowsports teaching is the world for you. Our mountain environment is a beautiful setting through which to demonstrate to people with physical or mental challenges that success can be theirs – they can achieve their goals and participate in the exhilaration of snowsports just like everyone else.
Our educational programs and certification processes provide the "know-how" and experience to modify the alpine and snowboarding skill development progressions to successfully teach people with special needs, including:
- People with cerebral palsy
- People who are paraplegics or who are quadriplegics
- Visually impaired or blind
- Amputees
- People who are afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy
- People with mental processing difficulties (Downs Syndrome, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, mental retardation, post-stroke, head injuries)
The benefits of becoming involved in the Adaptive sector are:
- Your own skill and education improves and expands
- You meet some great people and join a "close-knit-dedicated" group of instructors
- You'll experience the reward and fun of helping some truly extraordinary people enhance their lives through snowsports!
