Location: Mount Snow (DUE TO COVID PRECAUTIONS, plan to meet your group on snow at 8:45am and wrap up between 3:30 and 4:00pm. More specific information will be sent to you prior to the event by email or text regarding your group's specific meeting location.)

Course Description:
Course Name: Alpine Update Clinic Discipline: Alpine Time: 2 Days Credits: 12 Continuing Education Credits Environment: Green to Easier Black Terrain Prerequisites: Minimum Registered Member Course Description: Alpine Update Clinic are educational events that provide participants with up-to-date, comprehensive information about ATS, ski instruction, and the ski industry. The course offers personal skiing improvement, teaching progressions and methodology, movement analysis, mechanics, equipment knowledge, and other information that is relevant to participant goals. Learning Experiences: Specific activities will vary depending on the group and environmental conditions; however, they will typically include: • Reviewing the five fundamentals of skiing and the • Reviewing and understanding how the skills in the Learning Connection Model - technical, teaching and people skills, are successfully used in ski teaching. • Observing and describing how the body is moving, should move, and how the skis should interact with the snow as they relate to the Skiing Fundamentals and identifying cause and effect. • Sharing activities to promote changes. The activities chosen must be mountain skiing and/or Agility/Versatility tasks appropriate to the advanced zone. Teaching will be done in or lead to significant time spent in conditions and speed appropriate to the Advanced zone. • Understanding how to incorporate Teaching Styles and VAK into coaching. • Practicing how to interact with the group and trainer/examiner in a way that it is evident the group is engaged and understands activities and directives. • Sharing how to adapt activities and communication for different ages and stages of development.


ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGES:


IF YOU NEED TO TRANSFER or CANCEL a 1-DAY EVENT:

Up to one week prior to the event: $20.00 fee

During the week prior to the event: $25.00 fee

IF YOU NEED TO TRANSFER or CANCEL a MULTI DAY EVENT:

Up to one week prior to the event: $20.00 fee

During the week prior to the event: $50.00 fee


Notice to the office must be made no later than 4:30pm on last business day before the event.


IF YOU DO NOT SHOW AT YOUR EVENT AND DO NOT CONTACT US: No refund.

IF YOUR CHECK IS RETURNED TO US: Checks returned for insufficient funds will not be redeposited. The registration will be voided unless such checks or charges are replaced by certified check, money order or cash prior to the event. For returned checks, this must include a processing charge of $25.00.




Some Eastern Division Resorts may require quarantine if traveling from another state.

Event Participant Safety Policy

Skiing and riding are athletic and physically demanding activities. It is the expectation of PSIA-AASI Eastern Division that each participant attending an event or exam shall possess the requisite level of fitness and stamina to participate safely, on all appropriate terrain and at a pace consistent with other members of the group. As such, PSIA-AASI Eastern Division reserves the right to have education staff reassign participants in any event that may pose a risk to themselves or others or consistently impede the progress of the group to another, more skill and fitness-appropriate event. In such a situation, an appropriate event will be recommended and the member may be transferred to that event at no charge (other than any difference in event costs) or a full refund of the originally registered event will be provided.
